Solex PII Carburetor Parts.
On this page you will find all currently available parts for the Solex 40 PII range carburetors.
The Solex 40 PII was mainly designed, and built, for Porsche's 356 and 912 4-cylinder engines.
There are two basic variations of the PII and the difference is in the throttle shaft.
The adopted names are "Split Shaft" for the version were each throttle valve has its own shaft, so 2 per carburetter and 4 per engine. The advantage is that it is possible to adjust these more finely but the disadvantage is that it is more complicated to do so.
The later version being the "Single Shaft" where a single shaft runs through each carburettor thus commanding two butterfly valves.
Which one is the preferred version? That is mainly a matter of personal preference and talent but we are now having conversion kits fabricated that allow you to convert your Split Shaft into a Single Shaft.
