Pipercross PX300 Air Filter System
|
Pipercross PX300 Individual Airfilters for Automobiles.
On this page you will find the range of Pipercross PX-300 airfilter elements and base plates.
Ingenius in all its simplicity, this system does require a short explanation.
The PX300 is designed for individual carburetors and can be adapted to the available space under the bonnet.
The PX300 consists of a separate “baseplate” tailor-made for the indicated carburetor.
Example of a baseplate for the Weber DCOE
You then choose the shape and size of filter element and your PX300 filter system is complete!
The baseplate is attached to the carburetor after which the filter simply hooks into place.
The key is then used to firmly lock the filter to the baseplate.
If you want to remove the filter, all that is need is a quarter turn of the key and the filter can be unhooked and removed in a matter of seconds, allowing great access to the carburettor.
The filters are produced from triple-laminated Pipercross filter foam and are supported on the inside by sturdy mesh.
Should there, for whatever reason, be no pre-shaped and die-cut baseplate available for your carburetor, then there is always the option of purchasing a "blank" baseplate which allows you to cut it to your specific needs.
Pricing of these sets is as follows:
Base plate ONLY | US$ 24.95 |
Filterelement ONLY | US$ 64.95 |
Total | US$ 89.90 |
When purchasing a baseplate and element together, we can offer these at US$ 84.95 giving you a savings of US$ 4.95 per set.
In order to purchase the combination that you desire, you need to select it through the * Shape & Size selection * menu which you will find above the Add to cart button.
An explanation of the workings of this ingenious system can be found HERE.
The filter-elements are produced in two basic shapes, the “Dome” and the “Box”.
The differences between the two are best demonstrated in the photos below.
To allow your engine to breath as freely as possible, we advise you to take the largest filter that you can fit under the bonnet.
Both models of filters have the same basics size (i.e. "footprint) which is 190 x 190 mm to be fitted onto the baseplates so the differences are only in the varying internal and external height and the shape.
Please note that they appear to be narrower than that they are long but in the width, we also count the two securing lips.
If you are using rampipes or trumpets, then please allow at least 19 mm of space between the trumpet mouth and inner face of the filter.
The following heights are available for the various models:
