Solex 40 PII to Weber 40 IDF carburetor conversion kit.
If you own a Porsche 912 with aging Solex 40 PII carburetors, then you are probably very well aware of the fact that these carburetors are slowly reaching the end of their working life and that refurbishing them is, although doable, not a cheap option.
Fuel consumption will go up, power will go down and trying to set the idle speed will become a major challenge and all that while parts have become virtually unobtainable.
Luckily, you are not alone so the people at Weber set to work and have created this conversion kit.
With this set, both carburetors get replaced with a two brand new Weber 40 IDF carburetors.
The kit comprises all required parts to complete this conversion, amongst other adapter plates to fit the IDFs onto the original inlet manifolds, efficient airfilters and all the nuts, bolts and gaskets to complete the conversion.
As this kit is intended specifically for the Porsche 912 engine, it is already jetted to suit the needs of that engine in standard form:
- Chokes: 32 mm
- Main jets: 125
- Air correctors: 180
- Emulsion tubes: F11
- Idle jets: 55
- Pump jets: 50
Should you desire to fine-tune this carburetor to your personal taste and the displacement / power output of your engine, then the various jets, chokes etc can be found on the Weber IDF page.
The carburetors are genuine Webers, made in Spain in Weber's own factory while the conversion parts are produced in the UK.
