Weber DFTH Carburetor Parts.
On this page you will find currently available parts for the Weber DFTH carburettor series.
The Weber DFTH is a vertical, downdraft, twin-venturi carburettor which was designed exclusively for Ford for use on their 1600 and 2000 cc engines as used in the Ford Sierra and Ford Granada.
The secondary throttle valve is usually vacuum-operated.
Through the years, and spread over the various versions of this carburetor, different choke operating systems were used.
For the smaller displacement engines, the 28/30 version was used and, with slightly larger throttle valves and jets, the 30/34 was used on the 2000 engines.
Also on the larger, 2000 cc, engines, Weber employed a system which they romantically dubbed LoVE... which stands for Low Vacuum Enrichment.
This system employs an extra, vacuum-operated diaphragm which is triggered by the rapidly dropping vacuum in the inlet manifold when the engine is on the brink of stalling.
The diaphragm then discharges an amount of fuel through the regular pump jet to help the engine overcome the impending stall and keep it running.
So far, we have not yet found a 28/30 DFTH with this system.
An even better description of the Weber DFTH can be found in the Haynes Manual on Carburettors which can be purchased HERE.
The manual elaborates on the working principles in great depth, using diagrams and drawings and also features a section on fault finding.
The exploded view drawing of the Weber 30/34 DFTH with LoVE can be found HERE.
The drawing will open in a new window.
You can then switch between the drawing and this page here as the numbers in the drawing match the number prefixes in the part descriptions on this page here.
So, as an example, Letter K in the drawing, is article "(K) Anti-Stall Diaphragm for Weber 30-34 DFTH Carburetor 47407.115" on this page here.
