WZX1304
Factory-Original, "plastic", SU "Stay-Up"-type float with gasket for a SU HS carburetor.
As shown in the pictures, this float is being supplied with the gasket for the float chamber cover (Number 24 in the drawing).
Most somewhat-older Parts Catalogs will list the float for the SU HS series as part number WZX 1300.
WZX1300 was a white, hollow, plastic float that wasn't very well resistant to aggressive modern fuels and would frequently spring leaks.
The production of that WZX1300 has been stopped around 2021 and it has been replaced by this, adjustable, unsinkable solid foam version, WZX1304, that you find on this page.
Because WZX1304 has a metal bracket which can be bent, it allows you to VERY precisely set the fuel level in the float chamber.
The instructions for setting the float are as follows:
Assemble the float chamber top and float with the float hinge pin and turn it upside down like in this picture:
Now measure gap A;
This is best set at between ⅛ plus or minus 1/16th inches (or roughly between 2.5 and 4.5mm).
The metal tang on the float should should be kept as parallel as possible to the float lid and the bend being completed as close to the float as possible.
